Ok, ok. I did it. I joined a commercial gym for a few months. It’s not because I wanted to as much as I feel like I need to. I need to do a shitload of cardio in order to meet a few of my fitness goals. The first is to set a personal record in a 10k race. I’m doing one in May. I’m not really going to do that unless I run a lot. And I hate running outside in the winter when it is either snowy, cold or dark – usually all three. I’m always amazed by the intrepid souls I see out, slogging away 365 days a year. I am not that guy. The other is to add some variety to my Sealfit Training. I’ll cancel my membership when the weather gets better.
Regardless, I did 56 minutes on the treadmill of super intense interval training. It was tough and I loved every minute of it. The same as the other day, my heart rate was often about 186 beats per minute right after the high intensity portions.
